Locally led by John Esposito and the Foundation and befriended by the National Film Board of Canada, this annual festival offers your students both a social justice film competition and/or an inspiring day of filmmaking workshops.
The Festival day is set for Friday, May 29, 2015 at the University of Waterloo STRATFORD Campus.
We have added two new workshops, including one on video animation to be led by our new "friend of the festival", the National Film Board of Canada. We will also be offering a session designed especially for teacher/chaperones.
Film competition entries are due no later than May 4 but you do not have to enter the contest to attend the Festival. New for this year: A music video category!
We have attached the poster and our brochure and muSOC DOCS poster can be downloaded at:
Posters and brochures are also en route to your school's main office. Please place the posters in your hallways.
It's our hope that you encourage and inspire kids to participate as we believe that documentary films and videos are one of the most compelling way to convey the heart of the human story.
This is a terrific opportunity for your students as we celebrate the achievements of young filmmakers who use their artistic creativity through the media arts to promote equality, democracy, and solidarity for a just, peaceful and compassionate society.

Hope to see you there.
